Download unsuccessful errors with Android based phones

To fix this annoying error which persists when trying to update or install ANY application, go to "Settings / Manage Applications". Then hit the menu key and select "Filter". Select "Show all". Then go find the "Download" application, select it, and clear its cache. You may want to clear the "Market" application's cache as well.

This error initially appeared after a firmware update to 2.1-update1. I searched FOREVER to find a fix for it. Maybe this will save someone some time. Research has shown many android based phones are affected by this problem.

As for a review, Android is a GREAT embedded platform and every Android based phone I've seen I've loved.  Nothing is perfect, but it is damn close. So there ;).
